Duties

  • Operate commercial snow removal equipment such as plows, loaders, and other machinery to clear snow from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and designated areas
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance
  • Perform routine maintenance on snow equipment, including minor repairs using hand tools and power tools
  • Support construction or landscaping projects by utilizing excavators and other machinery as needed
  • Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and snow removal operations
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize routes and respond swiftly to changing weather conditions

Skills

  • Proven experience operating machinery such as excavators, loaders, or similar construction equipment
  • Flexibility to work on-call, irregular hours, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as dictated by winter weather conditions
  • High attention to detail and a strict commitment to workplace safety protocols
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for maintenance tasks
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction sites and outdoor winter operations
  • Physical stamina to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
