Description

We are looking for a Senior Microsoft Azure and MS SQL Database Administrator to join our team of consultants in our Quebec City or Montreal office on a permanent basis.

This is a fully remote position.

As a Chrome Technologies consultant, the successful candidate will work with our clients to deliver the projects they have entrusted to us.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Microsft Azure and MS SQL DBA to support a major migration project to a new Enterprise-Scale Landing Zone (ESLZ) in Azure. This role focuses on assessing existing SQL environments, planning migration paths, and delivering secure, optimized SQL workloads in Azure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead MS SQL Server migrations using Azure tools (DMS, DMA, Azure Migrate and others).
  • Documentation of the detail design and operation.
  • Design and support MS SQL workloads on Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, and SQL VM.
  • Optimize database performance, indexing, query execution, and capacity planning.
  • Implement HA/DR, clustering (Always On, backups, failover) for cloud environments.
  • Apply ESLZ governance: RBAC, Azure Policy, Private Link, Key Vault, monitoring.
  • Automate deployments and operations (PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM/Bicep/Terraform).
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, security teams, and application owners.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years as a SQL Server DBA.
  • Strong experience with Azure SQL services and enterprise MS SQL migrations.
  • Expertise in performance tuning, HA/DR, and SQL Server administration.
  • Proficient in PowerShell and T SQL scripting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications (DP 300, AZ 104, AZ 305).
  • Experience in Azure administration, AzureDevOps, IaC and pipeline deployment

  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
