The Outage Manager will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate outage maintenance projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. Emphasis is placed on estimating, reporting and monitoring progress, planning and scheduling, and dealing with project change under the direction of the Senior Outage Manager or Project Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To plan to execute projects in accordance with Corporate Policy; managing all day-to-day project management
    • Establish project objectives that support outage goals and develop the project plan, including onboarding strategies, contracting requirements, schedule calendars, etc.
    • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates and project forecasts
    • Plan and prepare construction and maintenance schedules including adherence to outage milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
    • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Lead the project organization and assign the work activities throughout the project lifecycle
    • Monitor project performance (cost, schedule, quality) and complete and distribute regular project reports (including issues, status, and KPIs) to key stakeholders
    • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors
    • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
    • Review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies
    • Supervise and complete project close-out activities and support the transition to operations
  • Maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
    • Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships to enhance competitiveness in the industry and promote good customer relationships
    • Perform sales calls and visits to potential and existing accounts to generate business
  • Represent company on matters such as business services

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (or related discipline) or related experience
  • P.Eng and Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 10 years of project management experience for nuclear power plant industry or related construction/industrial projects, preferably in an Outage environment
  • Relevant experience in project development and planning
  • Experience effectively managing projects of medium risk and complexity (recommended worth between 10-100M, exceptions may apply)
  • Experience overseeing project teams

COMPENSATION The expected salary range for this role is between $125,000/annually and $145,000/annually. The starting salary will be based on several factors such as the successful candidate's qualifications, including but not limited to education, experience and overall competencies.
