Shipping & Receiving Clerk (full or part time)

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic warehouse team. Whether full-time or part-time, this role is vital in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory management. You will play a key part in maintaining efficient warehouse operations, supporting order fulfillment, and ensuring timely delivery to our customers.

This position offers an energetic environment where your skills in warehouse management systems and equipment operation will drive success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments by inspecting, verifying, and documenting deliveries using warehouse management systems (WMS) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) software.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and coordinating with carriers for timely dispatch.
  • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers safely to load and unload trucks and move inventory within the warehouse.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and updates in AS400 or other warehouse distribution systems.
  • Ensure proper packaging of products to prevent damage during transit, adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Support order fulfillment processes for e-commerce platforms by picking orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist with warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in shipping & receiving processes.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers safely; forklift certification is preferred.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, or similar ERP systems like MRP for inventory tracking.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse distribution practices and order fulfillment procedures.
  • Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately.
  • Knowledge of packaging techniques suitable for various product types.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as load & unload shipments, order picking, and standing for extended periods.
