The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Legal AI Response Reviewer to evaluate AI-generated legal answers, create expert legal content, and produce accurate legal analyses, drafting examples, checklists, policies, and memos.
Your work will focus on legal accuracy, clarity, completeness, issue spotting, rule application, citation checking when required, and careful assessment of legal risk, assumptions, and procedural steps. This is remote hourly contractor work for experienced legal professionals, with a commitment of 20+ hours per week.

What You'll Do
You will assess whether AI-generated legal content is accurate, well reasoned, appropriately qualified, and responsive to the prompt. You will also create reference-quality content that demonstrates how complex legal issues should be analyzed and communicated.
- Review and compare AI-generated legal responses for correctness, reasoning quality, and prompt adherence
- Identify weaknesses in legal reasoning, rule application, procedural steps, and risk handling
- Fact-check legal concepts and citations when needed
- Write model answers, explanations, checklists, policies, and memos that demonstrate strong legal analysis
- Evaluate outputs for misleading certainty, confidentiality risk, bias, and internal consistency
- Consider differences between consumer and business contexts when reviewing answers
- Simplify complex legal issues for non-legal audiences when appropriate
Requirements
This role requires substantial legal training and professional experience. You should be comfortable researching primary authority and translating complex legal reasoning into precise, practical written work.
- JD, LLB, or equivalent law degree
- Active bar membership or eligibility in at least one jurisdiction
- At least five years of professional legal practice
- Strong issue-spotting and structured legal analysis skills
- Experience in one or more areas such as contracts, employment, privacy, corporate law, litigation, intellectual property, real estate, or compliance
- Strong research skills using primary authority, including statutes, regulations, and cases
- Excellent drafting and editing skills, with close attention to precision and tone
- Minimum C1 English proficiency
- Prior experience with AI data training, legal quality assurance, editorial review, or knowledge management is strongly preferred
