Geopolitical & Economic Affairs Specialist – U.S. Remote

We are looking for experienced professionals who follow geopolitical, economic, policy, and international developments and can bring their professional knowledge to independent research and analysis.

This opportunity is particularly suited to established professionals who have developed practical expertise through their careers and are interested in contributing to flexible research projects alongside their existing professional commitments.

The work goes beyond summarising publicly available information. Contributors are expected to analyse developments, identify implications and trends, and bring informed perspectives to the subjects they cover.

Assignments may involve

  • Researching U.S. and international geopolitical developments
  • Analysing economic, political, trade, policy, or security trends
  • Examining specific cases and their wider regional or international implications
  • Preparing analytical articles, reports, and briefing materials
  • Drawing on professional or sector knowledge to provide perspectives beyond general open-source information
Relevant professional experience may come from:
  • Economics, trade, finance, or market-related environments
  • Government, public administration, or public-sector organisations
  • International affairs, policy, or geopolitical analysis
  • Consulting, corporate strategy, or risk
  • Aerospace, technology, infrastructure, energy, or other strategically relevant industries
  • Defence-related or government-supporting organisations
  • Military or public service backgrounds
  • Research and analytical functions within established organisations
We are particularly interested in applicants who have developed years of substantive professional experience and can bring practical knowledge of their field to the work.

You should be comfortable

  • Researching complex subjects independently
  • Distinguishing between established information and meaningful analysis
  • Identifying trends, implications, and connections between events
  • Developing a clear point of view supported by credible evidence
  • Producing structured, professional written work
  • Managing assignments and deadlines independently
  • Professional or sector expertise is more important to us than previous publishing experience.
