Workday Payroll Analyst
About the position
As a Workday Payroll Analyst, you will support the stability, accuracy, and day-to-day effectiveness of payroll-related processes within Workday. This role requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of payroll workflows, and the ability to work collaboratively with Payroll, HR, IT, and other cross-functional teams to maintain data integrity and deliver reliable user experience.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to payroll-related inquiries and support requests submitted through ServiceNow, providing clear, accurate, and user-friendly guidance.
- Investigate and troubleshoot Workday Payroll issues related to payroll transactions, worker data, earnings, deductions, tax setup, pay results, and payroll processing errors.
- Document interactions, issue details, root cause findings, resolutions, and follow-up actions in accordance with company procedures and audit requirements.
- Escalate complex payroll or system issues to specialized team members or technical support teams, ensuring proper handoff, timely follow-up, and clear communication with impacted users.
- Maintain current knowledge of Workday Payroll functionality, payroll business processes, integrations, configuration impacts, and related best practices to provide effective support.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of payroll-related job aids, FAQs, process documentation, and training materials to support consistent and accurate system use.
- Monitor recurring payroll support trends, data issues, and user feedback to identify opportunities for process improvement, system enhancement, or additional training.
- Collaborate closely with Payroll, HR, Benefits, Compensation, IT, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues, support payroll operations, and maintain data integrity.
Requirements
- 1-2 Years Experience with Workday Payroll Canada; previous customer service or technical support experience highly regarded.
- Hands-on experience supporting Workday Payroll, including troubleshooting payroll-related transactions, validations, integrations, and configuration impacts.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain payroll and system concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality, empathetic support.
- Basic understanding of HR processes, payroll workflows, and data confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to collaborate within a team and adapt to changing procedures and technologies.
Nice-to-haves
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Service Now is advantageous.
