Warehouse - Shipping Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Warehouse Shift Supervisor, the primary responsibilities of the Shipping Coordinator are to provide administrative support in the Shipping office. The secondary responsibilities include driving the forklift in the Warehouse when the Warehouse Supervisor requires additional support or to cover staffing shortages on shift.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
Complete Administrative Tasks:

  • Schedule and confirm carrier pick-ups
  • Direct truck drivers to warehouse doors for shipment pick-up
  • Confirm orders in LX ERP and file orders
  • Create Bills of Lading and Customs paperwork using LX ERP
  • Fax paperwork to carriers and Customs Office
  • Prepare/Pick-up outgoing mail/FedEx as required
  • Log intercompany freight in the designated file
Communicate and Coordinate:
  • Communicate order status and/or shortages with Customer Service Coordinators (CSCs)
  • Expedite all responses and communications to CSCs and the Sales team
  • Ensure CSCs requests and inquiries are directed to appropriate person
  • Participate in information exchange with other departments as necessary
Other Responsibilities:
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Provide back-up support as required
  • Present issues in a professional manner
  • Assist with Warehouse planning activities
  • Never compromise safety
  • Treat fellow team members with honesty, respect, and dignity
  • Meet standards of conduct
  • Adhere to 5S, HACCP and Safety rules
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience/Field: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment
Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft applications: Outlook, Excel, and Word
Licenses/Permits Required: Forklift driver’s license
Communication Skills: Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements: Job requires both office and plant exposure. Both areas are air conditioned and are subjected to high noise and dust levels
