UX Researcher — Voice and Video Contributor

HeyMilo Labs | Remote | Independent Contractor | $40–$100 per hour

HeyMilo Labs is looking for experienced UX researchers to participate in paid, recorded conversations with other research professionals. You’ll discuss research decisions, debate methodologies, and explain how you interpret evidence and communicate findings.

These conversations will help train and evaluate AI systems.

What you’ll do

  • Discuss research planning, participant recruitment, interview techniques, usability testing, and synthesis.

  • Debate which research approach fits a particular question, timeline, or product decision.

  • Defend an interpretation of fictional research findings while acknowledging limitations and uncertainty.

  • Challenge assumptions, probe alternative explanations, and respond to another researcher’s critique.

  • Explore how to communicate findings when stakeholders disagree or the evidence is incomplete.

What we’re looking for

  • Professional experience in UX research, user research, human factors, or a comparable research role.

  • Hands-on experience designing and conducting studies and communicating findings.

  • Fluent spoken communication in the language of the session.

  • The ability to distinguish observations from interpretations and support your perspective with evidence.

  • Comfort with a substantive, unscripted discussion that includes constructive disagreement.

Professional acting experience is optional. Domain expertise and conversational ability are essential.

The next step

Following an initial screening, selected applicants will be invited to a paid, recorded conversation with another research professional who has a similar background. You’ll discuss a topic within your shared expertise, debate research choices, and challenge each other’s interpretations.

Compensation and recording

Pay is $40–$100 per hour. The rate, expected time commitment, and recording-use and licensing terms will be shared before you accept an assignment. Recordings may be licensed to AI developers for training and evaluation under the agreed terms.

You’ll need a quiet environment, reliable internet, a clear microphone, and a webcam. Be comfortable appearing on video with your face visible and filters and background blur turned off. Use fictional or anonymized research examples.

How to apply

Share your research background, methods and subject areas, availability, time zone, and spoken languages.
