Systems Testing/ QA Specialist

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Systems Testing / QA Specialist to lead and execute end-to-end testing activities across large-scale enterprise applications. The role involves designing test strategies, executing various testing types, ensuring system quality, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Key Responsibilities Test Strategy & Planning <ul> <li>Provide guidance on testing strategies, test plans, and tool selection </li> <li>Plan and organize testing efforts for large-scale GUI and non-GUI systems </li> <li>Identify required testing resources and timelines </li></ul>Test Execution <ul> <li>Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and UAT testing </li> <li>Conduct specialized testing such as performance, stress, and load testing </li> <li>Validate system behavior under various conditions </li></ul>Test Development <ul> <li>Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts </li> <li>Build and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, UFT, TestComplete, or Postman </li> <li>Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines </li></ul>Defect Management <ul> <li>Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, or Bugzilla </li> <li>Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve issues </li></ul>Data & Backend Testing <ul> <li>Validate data integrity, accuracy, and consistency </li> <li>Perform data migration and transformation testing </li> <li>Write and execute SQL queries for backend validation </li></ul>Collaboration & Agile Participation <ul> <li>Work with developers, business analysts, and project managers </li> <li>Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) </li></ul>Documentation & Compliance <ul> <li>Maintain test documentation, coverage reports, and quality metrics </li> <li>Contribute to user manuals and release notes </li> <li>Ensure compliance with industry standards and AODA accessibility requirements </li></ul> Must-Have Requirements <ul> <li>8+ years of experience as a Software QA Tester </li> <li>Strong experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps) </li> <li>Experience in functional, integration, system, and regression testing </li> <li>Hands-on experience in test planning, test case creation, and execution </li> <li>Strong understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies </li> <li>Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall environments </li></ul> Strong Assets (Highly Preferred) <ul> <li>Experience testing Oracle Siebel CRM applications </li> <li>Experience with Siebel Test Automation </li> <li>Experience testing Adobe AEM </li> <li>Experience testing COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) applications (5+ years) </li></ul>Requirements Technical Skills <ul> <li>Experience with automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, UFT, Postman, etc.) </li> <li>Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) </li> <li>Working knowledge of SQL and data validation techniques </li> <li>Understanding of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Bash) </li> <li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems </li></ul> General Skills <ul> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities </li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills </li> <li>Ability to manage time and work under tight deadlines </li> <li>Team player with strong interpersonal skills </li> <li>Detail-oriented with a focus on quality </li></ul> Desirable Skills <ul> <li>Experience with CASE tools and test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, QMetry) </li> <li>Knowledge of object-oriented testing methodologies </li> <li>Experience testing in public sector environments </li> <li>Familiarity with accessibility standards (AODA) </li> <li>Experience in security testing </li></ul> Public Sector Experience (Nice to Have) <ul> <li>Experience with Siebel Public Sector modules (CRM, Case Management, eService, etc.) </li> <li>Experience working on government or OPS projects </li></ul>
