Company Description

McCord Investments sources power generation and electrical equipment for industrial operators and data centre developers across Canada. We act for the buyer. We are paid by the buyer. We take nothing from the seller.

Demand is running ahead of what the market can deliver. Operators and developers need generation on timelines the grid and the OEM order book cannot meet. The equipment exists somewhere. Verifying it and getting it to site on a date is the work.

We are engaging a technical advisor on a project basis to support that work.

Scope

  • Verify candidate units. Records, hours, condition, repair history. Advise on what is worth buying and what is not
  • Join client calls and hold the technical conversation with owner engineering teams
  • Define the requirement and the specification before we go to market
  • Advise on plant configuration and balance of plant
  • Move fast with clarity with C-Suite clients
Background we are looking for
  • Career experience in gas power generation. OEM, authorized depot, EPC, or owner's engineering
  • Understanding of the full plant, not a single component
  • International sourcing or project experience
  • Comfortable in front of an owner's engineering team

  • Based in Canada

Terms Independent contract engagement, project based, roughly one day per week to start. Compensation is weighted to project outcomes.
