Sr Equipment Specialist - Millwright Weekend shift

<p style="text-align:left"><u><b>Work Schedule</b></u></p>Flex Shifts 40 hrs/wk<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><u><b>Environmental Conditions</b></u></p>Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), No contact lens allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.)<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b><u>Job Description</u></b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>How will you make an impact?</b></p><p>Ensure process equipment and machinery are maintained in good order under Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) guidelines for maximum equipment uptime.  Provide technical skilled support and guidance to site operations via specialized maintenance services on a timely basis.</p><p></p><p><b>Weekend Shift Schedule:</b> Friday, Saturday & Saturday, biweekly rotation, 7 PM - 7: 30 AM and 7 AM - 7:30 PM.</p><p></p><p><b>What will you do?</b></p><p>Repair, rebuild, refurbish machinery and equipment utilizing milling machines, lathes and all machine shop hand tools by performing the following tasks:</p><ul><li><p>Perform general maintenance on production equipment such as: Fluid Bed Dryers, Film Coaters, Tablet Presses, Transfer Pumps, Vacuum Systems, Processing Vessels and auxiliary equipment.</p></li><li><p>Maintain production equipment, auxiliary equipment and building maintenance, including operator training on equipment set up and operation.</p></li><li><p>Make arrangements with Group Leaders and Production Supervisors to schedule equipment down time for maintenance within the Preventative Maintenance program timeframes.</p></li><li><p>Schedule equipment availability to perform preventative maintenance on time, maintain accurate records according to Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.</p></li><li><p>Participate in Operational meetings, Rapids, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and other as required.</p></li><li><p>Document applicable work activities performed within a CMMS Program</p></li><li><p>Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.</p></li><li><p>Perform alternating or rotating shift work as well as requirement to work during maintenance shutdowns.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>How will you get here:</b></p><p></p><p><b>Education: </b> </p><ul><li><p>High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required College</p></li><li><p>Certificate/Degree in Industrial Millwright</p></li><li><p>Certified Ontario Trades Person</p></li><li><p>Licensed to practice as Industrial Millwright</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Experience:</b></p><ul><li><p>Minimum 3 years  industrial mechanic or equivalent maintenance experience, preferably in food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical industries.</p></li><li><p>1+ years millwright experience, preferred</p></li><li><p>Experience reading drawing and schematics.</p></li><li><p>Maximo CMMS program experience preferred.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Equivalency</b><i>:</i></p><p>Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.</p><p></p><p><b>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</b></p><p>Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) Regulations. Proactive and organized approach to completing tasks timely and efficiently. Attention to detail and quality of work. Ability to deal confidently with inside and outside clients. Good working knowledge of electronics and pneumatics is desirable. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with the English Language.</p><p> <br /><b>Standards and Expectations:  </b>  </p><p>Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Work harmoniously with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives. Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Thermo Fisher Scientific quality systems SOP's and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion.  Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems in order to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.). Be client and patient conscious at all times. Understand Key Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engage in problem solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working. Proactively identify areas for improvement in the execution of procedures. Communicate risks to timelines of deliverables in a proactive manner.  Consistently strives to improve skills and knowledge in related field.</p><p></p><p><b>Physical Requirements:</b></p><p>Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
