Sr. Customer Delivery Engineer (CDE), Global Enterprise Services (GES)

Amazon Leo Customer Delivery EngineerAmazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable broadband connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From households to small businesses, schools, hospitals, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve communities and organizations operating in places without dependable internet access.

As part of Global Enterprise Services (GES), the Customer Delivery Engineer (CDE) for Amazon Leo serves as the primary technical authority and trusted advisor for customers integrating with the Leo. This role bridges the gap between customer needs and Amazon Leo's technical capabilities, driving successful implementation, managing integration activities, and ensuring long-term customer success.

You will deliver architectural guidance to customers, lead complex implementation and configuration activities through hands-on engagement, and provide technical advice to business development and internal teams. As a CDE, you will engage customers from contract execution, guiding them through the full lifecycle of network and back-office integration, from initial architecture design, implementation and deployment of system configurations, and development of code and scripts that optimize and automate functions to meet customer needs, through testing and the establishment of an ongoing support funnel across the post-sales organization.

You will operate at the intersection of networking, cloud services, back-office and business systems, and customer enablement, providing hands-on technical guidance that accelerates customer time-to-value with Amazon Leo.

Beyond standard onboarding, you are the hands-on delivery engine of Amazon Leo Professional Services. You own the paid statement of work (SOW)-based practice for complex, custom, and enterprise-scale engagements that fall outside the included services. You will scope and deliver bespoke integration, multi-region rollouts, and system migrations, often working as an internal resource or together with partners under fixed-fee or time-and-materials engagements, owning the specific work that only Amazon Leo can provide (Leo Console, terminal and customer-terminal provisioning, LEO network integration, and cloud/private connectivity). You will focus on the deep, complex L300–L400 tier of work (mobility, original equipment manufacturer [OEM] integration, and bespoke architecture) while directing and overseeing Professional Services partners who carry scaled, repeatable implementation under Amazon Leo's SOW and quality governance.

You will work with Customer Delivery Managers (CDMs) and Technical Program Managers (TPMs) on customer onboarding activities, collaborating with Product Managers, Engineering, and Solutions Architects to represent external customers' needs. Join a team that values innovation and builds the automation tools and processes that accelerate customer delivery at scale.

Key job responsibilities: Represent Amazon Leo as the technical expert during customer onboarding, leading detailed design decisions and performing hands-on implementation of complex and scalable integrations.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and propose effective integration plans; provide guidance and troubleshooting support throughout the technical implementation process.

Represent Amazon Leo in design and technical review meetings with customer stakeholders, providing technical guidance and recommendations on technology solutions and best practices.

Design and develop code and API scripts, working backwards with customers from broadly defined problems and user stories. Support customers with planning, troubleshooting, and deployment of the software modules that meet their back-office integration and automation requirements.

Provide on-site and remote support to customers during demonstrations, training sessions, trials, workshops, and systems deployment planning meetings; support on-site customer meetings to complete final design for custom network and back-office integrations.

Represent Amazon Leo during customer testing and validation, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on testing procedures and infrastructure, and supporting on-site or remote testing until final customer acceptance is achieved.

Scope and deliver paid, SOW-based Professional Services engagements, bespoke integration, multi-region rollouts, and migrations, as fixed-fee or time-and-materials projects, producing a scoped deliverable with a defined end date and handing off the repeatable pattern to ongoing support.

Apply the advisory-versus-build operating rule that governs Professional Services: advisory work (guiding, recommending, answering questions) stays within included scope, while hands-on-keyboard build of a deliverable outside included scope is qualified, scoped, and delivered as a paid engagement, run in parallel so it never delays go-live.

Direct and oversee Professional Services partners, whether subcontracted through AWS ProServ or external (third-party) partners under an Amazon Leo SOW, ensuring delivery meets Amazon Leo's technical bar and quality-governance standards while retaining ownership of specific IP.Work with sector and core GES leads to guide engineering activities, define baseline operational runbooks, plan automation, coordinate development of tooling and mechanisms, and share knowledge across the organization through mentoring, training, and reusable artifacts.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. A day in the life: You work alongside CDMs and TPMs with internal and customer technical staff to create custom connectivity solutions that meet enterprise requirements, integrating Leo capabilities with associated networking, AWS/Cloud, and specialized equipment.

You provide hands-on technical expertise across the full system lifecycle (concept, design, installation, test, operation, and maintenance), ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into total-system solutions that meet technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

On any given engagement, you might be scoping a paid statement of work for a bespoke back-office integration, drawing the line between what is included advisory and what is billable build, and standing behind a certified partner or AWS Professional Services team delivering regional rollout at scale, all while keeping the customer on their go-live path. You will identify areas to invent, refine, and automate to reduce manual operations and fulfill the requirements of the business long-term and its customers.

About the team: The GES Service Delivery team connects Product, Engineering, and Operations to direct customer context, ensuring Leo services reach enterprise customers in a form they can consume, trust, and scale. To internal teams, GES is the voice of the customer: surfacing field gaps, integration friction, and deployment-scale issues that shape engineering priorities.

To account teams, GES is the technical readiness authority, providing clear, current assessments of what is ready and what it takes to close gaps before customer conversations begin. GES Service Delivery leads the Amazon Leo B2B Professional Services, a paid delivery practice pairing Leo experts with AWS Professional Services and certified partners to deliver complex work at scale.

As a CDE, you will represent the technical depth of the Leo Service Delivery team, collaborating across Product, Engineering, Customer Delivery, and Customer Care to deliver a customer-obsessed experience.
