We are looking for exuberant individuals to join our team in a teaching role at our studio located in the Clarkson neighbourhood of Mississauga. In this role, you will work with a dedicated team of music education faculty whose mission is to guide each student to discover their musical spark.

At Sing Music Studio, music happens together.

Our instructors don’t simply teach private lessons. They coach bands, lead collaborative music classes, prepare students for performances and help children discover the joy of making music together.

We are currently seeking one or more enthusiastic music educators with strengths in one or more of the following areas:

• Piano (beginner to advanced)
• Guitar, electric guitar, bass and/or ukulele
• Early childhood music
• Group music instruction
• Band and ensemble leadership

Preference will be given to candidates who teach multiple instruments and enjoy both private instruction and collaborative group music-making.

Current Opportunities

We are currently seeking one or more instructors for September 2026. Exact teaching assignments will be based on the successful candidate(s)’ strengths and experience.

Potential teaching responsibilities include:

• Piano instruction (beginner to advanced)
• Guitar, electric guitar, bass and ukulele instruction
• Early childhood music classes (JK/SK)
• Elementary group music classes (Grades 1-4)
• Band and ensemble coaching (Grades 5-8)

There are opportunities to expand your schedule as enrolment grows. In this role you will…

• Deliver exciting and engaging lessons and classes using our holistic approach to music education while following studio curriculum and guidelines.
• Work with students ages 4 through adult across a variety of musical styles.
• Teach age-appropriate collaborative music classes, based on your experience and abilities, including:

• JK/SK (Explorers Prep): Music and movement, singing, percussion, keyboard exploration, introductory ukulele, boomwhackers and bells.

• Grades 1-2 (Explorers): Music and movement with an increased emphasis on recorder, ukulele, keyboard, singing, boomwhackers and bells.

• Grades 3-4 (Dreamers): Introduction to band skills through deconstructed drum kit, singing, keyboard, ukulele and collaborative music-making.

• Grades 5-8 (Players & Creators): Coach student bands, rehearse repertoire and prepare students for performances and community gigs.

• Deliver engaging private lessons in your primary instrument(s).
• Prepare students for studio showcases, community performances, recitals and other performance opportunities throughout the year.

• Encourage and empower students to become their best selves authentically.
• Nurture meaningful relationships with students and families that foster confidence, growth and long-term retention.

• Participate in team development, attend meetings and contribute to our collaborative studio culture.
• Help maintain a clean, organized and welcoming teaching environment.
• Utilize technology and online resources to enhance learning.

The Essentials

• Minimum one-year commitment required, with interest in building a meaningful, long-term role within a collaborative music education community
• Music Degree, Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to teach your primary instrument to advanced levels
• Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience
• Comfort with group class instruction (training provided)
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• Skills with technology and willingness to learn and excel with new software systems
• Access to a car or reliable transportation
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one)

Operational hours:

• School year studio hours are Monday–Thursday 3:00–9:00pm and Saturdays 9:00am–3:00pm
• Summer hours (July/August) are limited to 2-3 days/week with day camp shifts available
• Not all instructors are required to be available for all operating hours

• Teaching rate: $26–$30/hr depending on qualifications and experience, with a tiered pay structure that recognizes education and expertise
