Senior Shopify Ecommerce Architect/Developer - DTC Platform Migration

We are an established U.S.-based DTC ecommerce company migrating our ecommerce platform to Shopify. We are looking for an experienced individual Shopify developer/architect to help us design and build the new storefront and support the migration through launch.

This is not just a theme customization project. We need someone who has personally built and launched complete production ecommerce sites and can make sound Shopify architecture decisions.

We are looking for deep experience with Shopify/Shopify Plus, Liquid, Online Store 2.0, metafields/metaobjects, sections/blocks/app blocks, Shopify APIs/GraphQL, webhooks, Shopify Functions, checkout extensibility, Shopify CLI/Dev Dashboard, Git, and third-party integrations.

The person should also understand the broader ecommerce stack, including products/catalog, payments, tax, shipping, reviews, email/SMS signup, subscriptions where applicable, analytics/advertising tracking, GDPR/CCPA/privacy, SEO/redirects, performance, fraud, and customer/order integrations.

We value someone who can explain why a particular Shopify approach should be used rather than simply implementing requirements. We want to avoid unnecessary templates, apps, and custom code and build a maintainable platform that our internal team can support.

The engagement will initially focus on architecture, development, migration support, testing and launch, with the potential for ongoing work afterward.
