Senior Product Manager-Technical, Application Rationalization

If so, the Application Rationalization (AppRat) team wants to meet you.<br><br>We are looking for a self-motivated Sr. Product Manager - Technical with strong interpersonal skills and experience leading large-scale, cross-organizational initiatives. In this role, you will own the strategy and mechanisms that curate Amazon's enterprise software portfolio, with a strong emphasis on evaluating, piloting, and scaling AI-powered productivity tools. You will ensure every Amazonian has access to secure, productive, and cost-efficient tooling as AI transforms the way we work.<br><br>Key job responsibilities<br><br><ul><li> Define and drive the roadmap for rationalizing Amazon's enterprise software portfolio. Identify overlapping tools, assess build-vs-buy decisions, and recommend consolidation or retirement paths.</li><li> AI Tool Evaluation & Recommendations: Lead the assessment of 3P AI tools across productivity categories (communications, project management, prototyping, code generation, etc.). Deliver tool recommendations aligned with Amazon's "AI for Me" program, ensuring Amazonians have access to best-in-class AI capabilities for their common tasks.</li><li> Evaluation Frameworks: Invent and implement scalable mechanisms (scoring rubrics, data pipelines, stakeholder review processes) to evaluate applications across security, cost, adoption, and user experience dimensions.</li><li> Cross-Org Influence: Work across IT, engineering, finance, security, and business teams to drive consensus on tooling standards. Influence without authority at senior leadership levels.</li><li> Cost Optimization: Identify and deliver cost savings through license rationalization, contract renegotiation support, and elimination of redundant software.</li><li> Customer Obsession: Engage directly with power users and employee communities to understand pain points, validate recommendations, and ensure transitions preserve productivity.</li><li> AI-Native Operations: Contribute to AppRat's own AI-native transformation by identifying opportunities to automate evaluation workflows, adoption tracking, and portfolio intelligence using AI.<br><br></li></ul><strong>About The Team<br><br></strong>Application Rationalization (AppRat) manages Amazon's enterprise software portfolio across 1P and 3P applications. We tackle the proliferation of overlapping tools by evaluating, rationalizing, and consolidating applications so employees get an integrated, delightful experience while the company returns significant savings to the firm. As Amazon navigates unprecedented AI transformation, AppRat plays a critical role: we assess the rapidly expanding landscape of 3P AI tools, deliver recommendations to senior leadership, and drive procurement to get the best AI tools into Amazonians' hands quickly. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
