Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lead Internal Auditor with strong expertise in construction contracting and civil engineering projects to execute risk-based internal audits across large-scale capital projects and construction operations.

The ideal candidate must have proven experience working with construction contractors, EPC companies, or engineering organizations , with strong knowledge of project controls, contract management, commercial processes, and construction project risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute risk-based internal audits across construction, civil engineering, and EPC projects .
  • Assess project controls related to cost, schedule, contracts, variations, claims, procurement, and subcontractor management .
  • Review compliance with contracts, project governance, policies, and internal control frameworks.
  • Develop and execute Risk Control Matrices (RCMs) and evaluate control effectiveness.
  • Perform audit fieldwork, evidence review, and prepare high-quality audit workpapers.
  • Identify risks, control gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare audit findings, recommendations, and reports.
  • Engage with Project Directors, Commercial Managers, Finance Teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor corrective actions and follow up on audit recommendations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Professional certification preferred (CIA, CPA, ACCA, CFE, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 8+ years of internal audit experience .
  • Mandatory experience auditing construction contracting and civil engineering projects.
  • Experience within EPC contractors, construction companies, or infrastructure project environments .
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Construction contracts and EPC structures
  • FIDIC contracts
  • Project cost controls
  • Variations and claims management
  • Subcontractor management
  • Project governance and risk management
  • Strong knowledge of risk-based audit methodologies aligned with IIA IPPF standards .
  • Excellent audit documentation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Doha, Qatar.
