Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and control systems. Troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner. Install and commission new HVAC systems and equipment according to design specifications and safety standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand system layouts and operational requirements. Conduct performance testing and system balancing to ensure optimal energy efficiency and environmental control. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repair, and installation activities, including parts used and time spent. Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, sharing expertise and best practices. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify areas for system improvement and cost reduction. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an HVAC technician, with a significant focus on industrial environments. Possession of a valid Ontario HVAC license (e.g., 313A or equivalent). Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in large-scale HVAC systems. Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, psychrometrics, and air balancing principles. Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and building plans. Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and various control platforms is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team. Physical ability to work in various industrial settings, including confined spaces and at heights, and lift heavy equipment as needed. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
