About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Drilling Engineer to join their operational team in Hamilton, Ontario . This role is central to the planning, execution, and supervision of all drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for developing detailed drilling programs, managing service providers, and mitigating risks associated with complex drilling projects in the oil and gas industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to critical projects within a well-established organization.

Key Responsibilities Develop comprehensive drilling programs, including well design, casing programs, and fluid selection. Plan and execute directional drilling operations, ensuring wellbore trajectory and accuracy. Manage drilling contracts and service providers, ensuring performance and cost adherence. Conduct pre-spud meetings and rig site inspections to ensure operational readiness and safety compliance. Monitor drilling operations in real-time, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions to maintain progress. Prepare daily drilling reports and post-well analysis to capture lessons learned and improve future operations. Requirements Minimum of 7 years of experience in drilling engineering, with a strong background in the oil and gas sector. Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in planning and executing complex drilling operations, including offshore or unconventional environments. Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques, and safety regulations.
