As a Surface Finisher, you will perform duties such as sanding, grinding, and repairing units in preparation for welding, assembly, or paint, all while ensuring quality and meeting specifications.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Sand, grind, bevel, and prepare parts for welding.</li><li>Feather, flute, flat and level grind surfaces to eliminate stress areas.</li><li>Remove sharp edges, dents, and substrate defects.</li><li>Work from process sheets, shop orders, and blueprints.</li><li>Clean components by removing grit, grease, and other contaminants.</li><li>Inspect structures for defects like dents and rough welds.</li><li>Repair defects using fillers, sand, and apply primer as needed.</li><li>Wire brush, grind, and buff welds to meet cosmetic criteria.</li><li>Recognize and address weld defects such as fractures and distortions.</li><li>Change grades of abrasives to suit finishing requirements.</li><li>Remove and refit components such as doors using appropriate tools.</li><li>Flat surface sand with precision to meet aesthetic standards.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch.</li><li>Strong attendance, attitude, and work ethic.</li><li>Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.</li><li>Self-motivated and able to work independently.</li><li>Teamwork and willingness to assist others.</li><li>Eagerness to learn and adapt.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with hand and powered tools, spraying equipment, forklifts, and fixtures.</li><li>Proficient in using sanders, grinders, tape measures, squares, and files.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work Here?</strong><p>Enjoy comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401k plan.
