Sales Director, Canada | Sustainable Industrial Packaging | National Leadership Role

<p>Join a global leader in sustainable industrial packaging, reconditioning and recycling solutions with more than 11,000 employees across 20 countries.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a high-impact national leadership opportunity to oversee the Canadian Reconditioning sales organization. Based from the company’s Ontario operation, the Sales Director will lead a team of five Territory Sales Managers and help shape the commercial strategy for an established Canadian business representing approximately C$150M to C$200M in revenue.</p><p><br></p><p>The incoming Sales Director will inherit a stable business, an experienced field sales team and a substantial existing customer base. The focus will be on strengthening sales execution, developing the team, expanding strategic accounts and driving profitable new business across Canada.</p><p>You will work closely with the General Manager of Reconditioning Canada while partnering with sourcing, manufacturing, plant operations and senior leadership. The commercial portfolio includes new and reconditioned drums, IBCs, container sourcing, recycling and reconditioning services.</p><p><br></p><p>This is not a desk-based leadership position. The Sales Director will remain highly engaged with customers and the field team, traveling regularly throughout Canada to support strategic accounts, coach Territory Sales Managers and identify new growth opportunities.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>$150K+ base salary, flexible depending on experience</li><li>20% to 25% target bonus, paid quarterly</li><li>Bonus based on a combination of sales performance and company results</li><li>Comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits</li><li>Company-provided computer and phone</li><li>Retirement program</li><li>Paid time off and business expense reimbursement</li><li>Strong opportunities for professional development and advancement</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Core Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Lead, coach and develop five Territory Sales Managers across Canada</li><li>Develop and execute a national sales strategy that supports revenue and profitability goals</li><li>Expand existing customer base across multiple product and service lines</li><li>Create a disciplined approach to prospecting and net-new customer acquisition</li><li>Lead strategic negotiations with large industrial and multi-location customers</li><li>Increase share of wallet within established accounts</li><li>Support growth across new drums, reconditioned drums, IBCs and container sourcing</li><li>Establish clear expectations around pipeline development, forecasting and CRM utilization</li><li>Work closely with manufacturing, sourcing, pricing and plant operations</li><li>Help resolve quality, service and operational issues affecting customers</li><li>Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance reporting to senior leadership</li><li>Remain actively involved in the field through customer meetings and joint sales calls</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Ideal Background</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>7 to 10+ years of progressive B2B industrial sales experience</li><li>At least five years of direct sales-management and people-leadership experience</li><li>Current or previous experience as a Sales Director, National Sales Manager or Senior Sales Manager</li><li>Experience leading field-based sellers across multiple territories</li><li>Demonstrated success developing and implementing sales strategies</li><li>Strong record of expanding existing accounts and winning net-new business</li><li>Industrial packaging, recycling, reconditioning or related experience strongly preferred</li><li>Experience negotiating complex agreements with large industrial customers</li><li>Strong financial, commercial and business-planning capabilities</li><li>Competitive, hunter-oriented mentality with a collaborative leadership style</li><li>Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM platform preferred</li><li>Bachelor’s degree preferred, although equivalent professional experience will be considered</li><li>Ability to travel approximately 50% throughout Canada</li></ul><p><br></p><p>If you are a hands-on industrial sales leader who can develop people, strengthen commercial execution and drive growth across a national organization, this opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within an established global market leader.</p><p><br></p>
