Store - Cedar Knolls, NJ<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>The Merchandise Manager drives merchandising and operational execution, including truck processing, inventory routines, planogram sets, and visual standards. This role ensures accurate pricing, timely promotional execution, and a customer-ready store environment through strong workload planning and inventory management.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Major Activities</b></p><ul><li>Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.</li><li>Ensure execution of Company policies and standards, holding team accountable for store conditions and results.</li><li>Provide Manager-on-Duty (MOD) coverage, maintaining floor leadership, service standards, and operational continuity.</li><li>Lead truck execution processes, ensuring timely unloading, accurate sorting, and efficient flow of merchandise to the sales floor.</li><li>Own workload planning and daily task prioritization, partnering with store leadership to align staffing and execution to business needs.</li><li>Execute and maintain SISO (Store-In-Stock Optimization) routines to drive in-stock levels, replenishment accuracy, and sales readiness.</li><li>Oversee Planogram (POG) execution, ensuring merchandising sets are completed accurately and on schedule.</li><li>Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards, including initial product placement and presentation to company expectations.</li><li>Support a clean, organized, and customer-ready store environment, including backroom organization and sales floor recovery.</li><li>Manage key aspects of inventory control, ensuring product accuracy, integrity, and efficient stock movement.</li><li>Execute ad sets, ensuring promotional signage and product placement are compliant and customer focused.</li><li>Complete price changes accurately and on time, maintaining pricing integrity across the sales floor and systems.</li><li>Oversee Ship from Store fulfillment, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped efficiently and accurately.</li><li>Process RTVs (Return to Vendor) and ASN receiving, ensuring compliance, documentation accuracy, and proper inventory adjustments.</li><li>Manage store damages procedures, ensuring proper handling, reporting, and shrink reduction</li><li>Train, coach, and develop team members through structured TM onboarding and ongoing skill-building across assigned departments.</li><li>Partner in maintaining strong Asset Protection practices, reducing shrink through awareness, compliance, and safe operations.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Other duties as assigned</b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Minimum Type of Experience Required</b></p><ul><li>3+ years retail leadership experience</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Work Environment</b></p><ul><li>Ability to remain standing for long periods of time</li><li>Ability to move throughout the store</li><li>Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching</li><li>Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise and fixtures, up to 25-50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.</li><li>Ability to climb ladders or step stools to stock and retrieve products.</li><li>Ability to perform repetitive motions, including scanning items, stocking shelves, and operating POS equipment.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent customer interactions.</li><li>Work hours include nights, weekends and early mornings</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b><span>Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.</span> </b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Total Base Pay Range for this Position:</b></p>$16.75 - $22.60<p> </p>This position may be eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with state and local laws.<p> </p><p>At The Michaels Companies Inc., our purpose is to fuel the joy of creativity and celebration.
