Toschi Collins & Doyle supports the use of remote work arrangements while maintaining high standards of client service.<br><strong>Role Description</strong> This is a full-time remote role for a Civil Litigation Attorney with approximately 3–7 years of experience. The attorney will manage a caseload of insurance defense matters, including fact investigation, legal research, and drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. Daily responsibilities include taking and defending depositions, preparing case evaluations, and advising clients and carriers on strategy and risk. The role involves appearing remotely and, when necessary, in person for court hearings, settlement conferences, and trials, as well as negotiating settlements and participating in mediations. The attorney will collaborate with colleagues and staff, maintain accurate case documentation, and meet court and client deadlines while working independently in a remote environment.<br><strong>Qualifications<br></strong> <ul><li>Strong foundation in civil litigation and insurance defense law, including familiarity with relevant statutes, case law, and procedural rules.</li><li>Experience drafting and arguing motions, including dispositive, evidentiary, and procedural motions.</li><li>Background in handling matters before courts, including remote appearances, hearings, and case management conferences.</li><li>Demonstrated trial skills or trial-preparedness experience, such as opening/closing, witness examination, and trial strategy.</li><li>Proficiency with depositions, including taking and defending depositions of parties, experts, and witnesses.</li><li>Active state bar license in good standing (jurisdiction(s) relevant to the firm’s practice); additional admissions are a plus.</li><li>Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and clear, concise communication.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while working remotely with minimal supervision.</li><li>Comfort with legal technology, case management systems, and secure remote work tools.</li><li>Prior insurance defense or civil litigation experience within the 3–7 year range; trial or arbitration experience is desirable.</li></ul>
