Position Overview

As an Obstetrics Registered Nurse with Augury Healthcare, you will provide specialized nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout the maternity care journey.

You will support patients during labour, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care while collaborating with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and patient-centred outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing nursing care to obstetric patients throughout labour, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Performing maternal and fetal assessments
  • Monitoring patient progress and recognizing changes in condition
  • Supporting labour and delivery procedures
  • Administering medications and treatments according to clinical standards
  • Assisting with postpartum and newborn care
  • Educating patients and families on care plans, recovery, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborating with physicians, midwives, and healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Following Alberta Health Services and facility policies, procedures, and patient safety standards

Qualifications

Successful candidates must have:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or eligibility to obtain Alberta registration
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Obstetrics or Maternal-Child nursing experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • NRP certification preferred
  • Fetal monitoring certification preferred
  • Labour & Delivery experience preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability and willingness to travel for assignments within Alberta
