Overview

The Proofreader is highly detail-oriented, organized, and focused on flawless print and digital deliverables.

 

They are meticulous in reviewing advertising and collateral materials for a wide range of clients, including financial services, automotive, and pharmaceuticals.

 

They manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards, adapting to shifting workloads and priorities.

 


Responsibilities

  • Ensure client-approved copy decks align with studio mechanicals (PDFs).
  • Annotate errors and inconsistencies clearly and concisely.
  • Review brand guidelines for each client.
  • Check typographic consistency, layout, and print and digital specifications.
  • Distribute annotated PDFs to stakeholders according to schedule.
  • Review pre-press mechanical PDFs prior to release to external vendors.
  • Maintain strict version control to ensure approvals are documented in accordance with established studio procedures.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of proofreading experience in an advertising agency, in-house marketing department, design studio, or print environment.
  • French and/or Spanish language skills are an asset.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Jira and AI assistants (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude) is an asset.
  • Pharma experience an asset.

  • Foster a collaborative environment and support teammates as needed.
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with studio and agency teams.
  • Demonstrate confidence and professionalism and remain open to constructive feedback.
  • Complete administrative tasks, attend studio status meetings, and submit timesheets on time.

Additional information

Salary

Transparency matters to us. The salary range for this position is CAD$65K-$85K per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and applicable certifications. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on current market data.
