They operate at the intersection of customer transformation, delivery excellence, and business growth, helping our largest customers realize value from complex, multi-million-dollar transformation programs.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager to lead some of Microsoft's most strategic customer engagements across Canada.This role is accountable for driving business outcomes across large, complex programs that span multiple workstreams, technologies, partners, and stakeholder groups. The Principal Project Manager serves as the single-threaded delivery leader responsible for translating customer business objectives into executable plans, aligning Microsoft and customer stakeholders, accelerating value realization, and ensuring successful adoption of transformational solutions.This is not a project coordination role. The Principal Project Manager is expected to operate as a trusted advisor to customer executives, influence decision making without formal authority, proactively manage risk and ambiguity, and orchestrate Microsoft teams across sales, engineering, architecture, customer success, and delivery organizations.


Responsibilities


Customer Transformation Leadership

  • Own end-to-end accountability for complex enterprise transformation programs.
  • Align technology investments to measurable customer business outcomes.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to customer executives and transformation leaders.
  • Drive outcome realization, adoption, organizational readiness, and value measurement throughout the engagement lifecycle
  • Help customers move from vision and ideation through implementation, adoption, and scale.

Program Leadership & Execution

  • Provide single-threaded ownership for large, multi-disciplinary programs.
  • Establish governance structures, operating rhythms, executive reviews, and decision-making frameworks.
  • Lead program planning, mobilization, execution, risk management, dependency management, and closure activities.
  • Translate complex business objectives into actionable workstreams, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Create urgency and momentum while navigating ambiguity and changing priorities.

Executive Stakeholder Management

  • Build trusted relationships across customer executive teams, Microsoft leadership, and partner organizations.
  • Facilitate executive steering committees and governance forums.
  • Communicate program health, risks, dependencies, and outcomes with clarity and transparency.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within Microsoft and the voice of Microsoft with the customer.

Business and Commercial Leadership

  • Manage delivery financials, contractual commitments, resource plans, milestones, and forecasting.
  • Partner with account teams to identify expansion opportunities and accelerate business value realization.Support strategic account planning and long-term customer success.
  • Ensure programs deliver measurable impact that supports customer objectives and Microsoft's growth priorities.

Cross-Functional Orchestration

  • Align architects, engineers, consultants, Customer Success teams, Industry Advisors, partners, and account teams.
  • Remove blockers and resolve escalations across organizational boundaries.
  • Drive coordination across multiple Microsoft organizations while maintaining customer focus.
  • Ensure delivery teams remain aligned to business outcomes and customer priorities. [AI-First Delivery LeadershipChampion AI-first thinking in customer engagements and internal operations.Help customers identify, prioritize, and accelerate high-value AI use cases.Leverage AI capabilities to improve delivery predictability, productivity, governance, and business outcomes.
  • Lead programs involving Copilot, Azure AI, Data & Analytics, Fabric, Security, and emerging Microsoft technologies.

Qualifications


Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 7+ years experience in project management OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Significant experience leading large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives involving business, technical, and executive stakeholders.
  • Executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing program financials, risk, governance, and delivery outcomes.
  • Experience leading teams and influencing across matrixed organizations.
  • Experience in Consulting, Technology Services, Systems Integration, or Digital Transformation organizations.
  • Experience working with financial services or large enterprise customers.
  • Experience delivering AI-powered business transformation initiatives.
  • Fluency in French will be as asset



Consulting Project Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $172,200 - CAD $334,000 per year.
