Description
Leason Ellis LLP is seeking an intellectual property Patent Prosecution Legal Administrative Assistant with 2+ years of experience in patent prosecution to join our dynamic patent team! Applicants must have a college degree and experience with handling patent prosecution related tasks.Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate must have the demonstrated ability to:
- support multiple patent paralegals and attorneys
- prepare routine correspondence for attorney/paralegal; create reporting letters and legal documents utilizing in-house software/database tool
- prioritize and manage a full workload with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
- monitor filing deadlines noted on docket reports for all US and foreign patent applications and communicate with Docketing re: status and filing details
- work both independently and in collaboration with other paralegals and attorneys
- assist with the preparation of PCT applications and correspondence to foreign associates
- comprehend and follow through with practice procedures and instructions, as well as ask well thought out questions when clarity is needed
- be willing to learn to assist in all phases of patent prosecution
- draft correspondence according to attorney preferences
- report incoming or as-filed correspondence to the client
- communicate with foreign associate law firms
- prepare and review formal documents
- create, maintain, and organize electronic files
- maintain client diary of preferences and contacts
- provide support and maintain internal client information using client approved software
- assist with coordination of incoming and outgoing file transfers
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate (or currently enrolled in a paralegal certificate program).
- Experience with patent prosecution and patent databases and websites.
- Strong writing skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize workload
- Apply excellent organizational skills to all assignments and responsibilities.
- Ability to articulate clearly and effectively in verbal and written communications with a strong focus on accuracy and proper grammar usage
- Ability to successfully proofread and edit documents
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 including Excel
- Exposure to docketing software (PATTSY preferred)
- Flexibility to work overtime, if needed.

Pay range: $50,000 - $65,000 per year based on relevant experience.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
