DM|BK is growing and looking for an experienced remote bookkeeper who values accuracy, strong work ethic, work/life balance, and meaningful work. We are located in Kelowna, BC in the Okanagan Valley and have worked hard to have a strong relationship with a variety of accountants and accounting firms.

Applicants must live in Canada. Preference will be given to candidates located in Western Canada, especially those familiar with BC businesses, GST/PST, WCB, and Pacific-time workflows.

Compensation

$26–$29/hour, depending on experience, skill level, and fit.

Full-time annual equivalent:

  • $26/hour = approximately $54,080/year
  • $29/hour = approximately $60,320/year
Part-time annual earnings will depend on agreed weekly hours. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus, based on business growth.

About the Role

This is a remote bookkeeping role for someone who is already experienced, trusted, and confident working independently. We are looking for a bookkeeper with a strong reputation, sound judgment, and excellent attention to detail.

You must be comfortable managing real bookkeeping work — not just data entry. This includes reviewing source documents, catching errors, identifying duplicates, asking good questions, and ensuring files are clean, accurate, and useful.

We are looking for someone who embraces technology and uses QBO and connected apps to work efficiently, while still applying careful review, judgment, and accuracy.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Full-cycle bookkeeping using QBO
  • Processing AP and AR
  • Managing bank feeds and reconciliations
  • Reviewing GST/PST coding and reporting
  • Processing and reviewing high-volume transactions
  • Working with source documents and receipts
  • Cleaning up and reviewing client bookkeeping files
  • Supporting month-end workflows
  • Communicating often and clearly with the team
Must-Haves
  • Strong QBO experience — required
  • Solid bookkeeping experience with small and/or medium-sized businesses
  • Strong accuracy with dates, coding, duplicates, source docs, and reconciliations
  • Experience with AP, AR, bank feeds, recs, GST/PST, and month-end work
  • Comfortable using QBO technology, automations, bank feeds, rules, and integrated apps to improve efficiency
  • Willing to learn and use modern bookkeeping apps and workflows instead of relying on outdated manual processes
  • Ability to work independently from home
  • Reliable, organized, deadline-aware, and communicative
  • Sound judgment and discernment
  • Willingness to follow established workflows
  • Good professional reputation
  • Two letters of recommendation required
  • Must currently live in Canada
  • Preference for candidates located in Western Canada
