Paralegal, Litigation Support
About the Role Our client, a reputable mid-sized law firm known for its client-centric approach, is seeking a dedicated and organized Paralegal with a strong focus on litigation support. This role is essential for assisting lawyers in managing casework, preparing for hearings, and ensuring the smooth progression of legal proceedings. The successful candidate will be a key member of the litigation team, contributing to client success. This position requires regular attendance at the firm's offices in Vaughan, Ontario . Key Responsibilities Assist lawyers with case management, including organizing files, scheduling, and tracking deadlines. Prepare legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence under lawyer supervision. Conduct legal research and fact-finding for case preparation. Manage discovery processes, including organizing and summarizing documents. Communicate with clients, witnesses, court staff, and opposing counsel as directed. Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit lists and witness binders. Maintain and update client databases and case management systems. Perform administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and scanning. Coordinate with external experts and third-party service providers. Ensure compliance with court rules and procedures. Requirements Post-secondary education in Paralegal Studies or a related field. Law Society of Ontario paralegal license (preferred). Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a strong emphasis on litigation. Proficiency in legal research and document management software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with civil procedure rules and court processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. A proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
