- Our client is seeking a
Technical Reviewer – Microsoft 365 Copilot for a
6-week remote project based in Toronto
. This is a hands-on technical configuration review role focused on assessing the Microsoft 365 Copilot environment for secure setup, alignment with vendor-recommended baselines, and readiness for scalable deployment. The ideal consultant will have experience with reviewing and interpreting the actual configuration of the Copilot environment; validating that it is set up in line with vendor-recommended and industry best-practice deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a technical review of the Microsoft 365 Copilot deployment environment.
- Assess whether the environment is securely configured and aligned with Microsoft-recommended baselines and industry best practices.
- Review actual platform configurations rather than relying on stakeholder descriptions or documentation summaries.
- Validate licensing, provisioning and deprovisioning processes, conditional access, privileged access, and internet/data-egress restrictions.
- Evaluate data protection and oversharing controls across Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and OneDrive permissions, sensitivity labels, Data Loss Prevention, and information barriers.
- Review Copilot Studio configuration, including custom agents, connectors, plug-ins, and extensions, with a focus on approvals, testing, and access controls.
- Assess data-source readiness, including classification and permissioning of enterprise knowledge sources exposed to Copilot search.
- Examine monitoring, logging, and incident response configurations related to Copilot usage and data-loss events.
- Confirm whether appropriate risk assessments were performed and documented prior to and during broader rollout.
- Deliver technical findings, gap analysis, and recommended configuration improvements. Based on general knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365 admin and security configuration: licensing, provisioning/deprovisioning, conditional access, privileged access, and internet/data-egress restrictions.
- Data protection and oversharing controls: Microsoft 365 permissions, SharePoint/OneDrive access models, sensitivity labels, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and information barriers.
- Copilot Studio, custom agents, connectors, plug-ins, and extension configuration — approval, testing, and access-control review.
- Data-source readiness: classification and permissioning of enterprise knowledge sources exposed to Copilot search.
- Monitoring, logging, and incident response configuration for Copilot usage and data-loss events.
- Ability to benchmark observed configuration against Microsoft-recommended security baselines and recognized industry best practice.
- Experience in a regulated financial-services environment (an asset).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a regulated financial services environment

- Prior experience performing independent technical assessments or configuration reviews for enterprise AI or Microsoft 365 environments.
