Meals on Wheels Runner
<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>To assist the driver in delivering hot meals to home-bound, isolated seniors or person with disabilities in the community between 11:30am to 1:30pm from Monday to Sunday and statutory holidays. <strong> Volunteers only required to commit 1 shift per week.</strong></p><p><strong>Key Position Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>To deliver, with a volunteer driver, meals within a pre-determined route of 10 -15 residences</li><li>To provide reliable and timely meal delivery.</li><li>To accurately follow outlined route sheet guidelines and instructions.</li><li>Delivered to assign Clients in the community.</li><li>To serve as a link between Clients and Better Living Health and Community Services.</li><li>To observe Clients’ well-being and environmental conditions.</li><li>To report all changes in Client or environmental conditions to Meals on Wheels Coordinator immediately upon return from the delivery route.</li><li>To strictly follow Meals on Wheels volunteer guidelines</li></ul><p><strong>POSITION BENEFITS </strong></p><p>1. Letter of reference (upon completion of minimum hours of services) if requested.</p><p><strong>Additional Information</strong></p><p>General volunteer orientation; On-the-job shadowing/training with an experienced volunteer or staff; Volunteer will be trained to follow maps, directions and safe food handling protocol.</p><p><strong>Required language</strong></p><p>English</p><p><strong>Minimum age</strong></p><p>16</p><p><strong>Minimum hours per week</strong></p><p>2 hours per week between Monday and Sunday.</p><p><strong>Task requirements</strong></p><p>Punctual and reliable. Interpersonal and communication skills. Understanding of the senior population.
