About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Process Engineer to join their refining operations in Toronto, Ontario . This key role involves overseeing process design, optimization, and troubleshooting for complex oil and gas refining units. You will lead a team of process engineers, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the facility. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in refining processes and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives within a demanding industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of process improvements and capital projects within the refinery. Conduct process simulations and analyses to optimize unit performance and energy efficiency. Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for operational challenges in refining units. Develop and review process safety management (PSM) procedures and ensure compliance. Mentor junior process engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and safety. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the oil and gas refining sector. Extensive knowledge of refinery unit operations (e.g., crude distillation, hydrocracking, catalytic reforming). Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and process control systems. Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills for the Toronto facility.
