Inside Wholesaler - Individual Insurance

What is the opportunity?

As an Inside Wholesaler, Individual Insurance, you will be responsible to cultivate and maintain quality relationships with existing RBC Insurance Brokers while developing new relationships in specific territories and increasing sales of RBC Insurance product. You will work closely with Sales Consultants to achieve plans for all lines and develop producer acquisition strategies, provide quotes, solutions, advice to assigned brokers, and develop relationships to optimize business opportunities and referrals.

What will you do?

  • Partner with Sales Consultant to establish a strategic business plan for the territory with defined sales targets
  • Proactively contact insurance advisors to gain information and insight into their practices
  • Establish relationships with marketing staff of key producers/MGAs.
  • Provide insight and sales ideas related to the insurance industry, product knowledge & system training (BIC, Illustrations, Morningstar etc.) 
  • Position RBC Insurance products & solutions to prospects & existing clients; as well as identifying cross selling opportunities
  • Advance the sales process with new prospects by booking presentations and meetings for the Sales Consultants
  • Maintain contact management system and develop follow-up strategy for newly contracted brokers, thank-you for large cases, etc. .
  • Attain weekly metrics
What will you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Life Insurance License (LLQP) or willing to obtain the license within 6 months of the hire date
  • Post-secondary education or the equivalent.
  • Excellent organizational skills – able to respond to inquiries, suggestions, complaints and requests in a timely, courteous & professional manner.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Driver’s license and vehicle mandatory
Nice-to-have
  • Proven success meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Knowledge of all lines of business (Life, Living Benefits, Wealth) an asset
  • Financial Acumen – sound knowledge of financial markets, fundamentals of financial planning
  • Understanding of competitive landscape and marketplace

The expected salary range for the above position is $55,000 - $90,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.

This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment.
