HR Specialist (Remote)

<p><strong>This is a REMOTE role. </strong></p><p>MMR Consulting is a global consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, providing Engineering, Project Management, and Validation services to clients across North America and internationally.</p><p>We are seeking an <strong>HR Specialist </strong>to support our growing organization primarily across North America (Canada, USA) with some periodic support to Asia. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to step into a broad, hands-on role supporting employee lifecycle management, HR administration, immigration, employee relations, benefits and compensation, and other key HR initiatives.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>HR Documentation & Compliance:</strong> Draft and maintain employment agreements, amendments, HR letters, policies, templates, and other employee documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements.</li><li><strong>Immigration Support:</strong> Coordinate U.S. and Canadian immigration matters, working closely with employees, managers, and external immigration counsel to manage documentation, applications, renewals, and key deadlines.</li><li><strong>Employee Lifecycle Management:</strong> Manage and coordinate the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding experience for employees and contractors, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from hire through departure.</li><li><strong>HRIS & Employee Records:</strong> Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in BambooHR and other HR systems, including training, career development, compliance, and employment documentation.</li><li><strong>Benefits, Leave & Compensation:</strong> Support the administration of employee benefits and leave programs, as well as salary increases, bonuses, and other compensation-related processes.</li><li><strong>Employee Relations & HR Support:</strong> Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on day-to-day HR matters, policies, employee relations, and workplace questions.</li><li><strong>Recruitment & New Hire Coordination:</strong> Support recruitment activities, prepare offer letters, coordinate background checks and pre-employment requirements, and partner with IT and other teams to ensure new hires are fully prepared for their first day.</li><li><strong> HR Reporting & Insights:</strong> Prepare HR reports and data to support management decision-making.</li><li><strong> HR Communications & Employee Experience:</strong> Coordinate HR communications and employee engagement initiatives.</li><li><strong> HR Operations & Projects:</strong> Provide backup support for payroll and benefits administration and assist with HR projects and initiatives.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>5 of progressive, hands-on HR experience, with solid knowledge across core HR functions.</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management (HRM) or a related field, or a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management.</li><li>Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment legislation, and HR compliance requirements.</li><li>Experience with work visas / immigration is considered an asset, but not required.</li><li>Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, with a high level of attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while providing responsive support to employees and managers.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Salary range : 55K to 60K based on experience </p><p>As part of our recruitment process, we may use technology-assisted tools, including AI-enabled systems, to support application review and candidate evaluation.
