## Housekeeping Aide - Casual Wage per hour $19.86. Cogir Senior Living manages retirement residences across the country and for over 25 years we have dedicated every day to the happiness of retirees. This casual position is based at Don Mills Seniors Apartments, Canada, and it contributes directly to a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents. On a typical day you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitization of residents' apartments and the residence's common areas. Tasks include cleaning according to assigned schedules using appropriate cleaning and sanitation methods and procedures; cleaning furniture, kitchen and washroom fixtures, walls, ceilings, lights, vents and windows; operating floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment; and stripping, scrubbing, spraying, and buffing all carpet and non-carpet floor surfaces. You will also pick up garbage and transport it to designated areas and prepare documentation as required according to residence policy. We expect someone who can adhere to established residence policies and procedures, including safety rules and safe working practices, and who will be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it. Attendance at in-service training and staff meetings is required in order to better serve the needs of the residents. Participation in the Quality Improvement Program and the completion of other duties as assigned are part of the role. You will be working in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents) and are expected to uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity. Who we are looking for: - Good oral and written English communication skills. - Ability to provide feedback on a day-to-day basis. - Knowledge and experience with standard institutional cleaning techniques. - Previous experience in commercial / residential/ Healthcare cleaning and laundry procedures is desirable. - Ability to work with minimal supervision and to meet the physical requirements of the job. - Proficiency in a second language is an asset. - Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
