Key Responsibilities (by Workload) Design & Execute QA Automation Strategy (40%) Lead quality assurance efforts across digital transformation initiatives. Create comprehensive automation test plans supporting rapid and continuous feature delivery. Develop and maintain automated test cases, scenarios, and reusable test suites. Design and implement: Functional automation tests System tests End-to-end tests Regression tests Ensure testing activities align with Agile development practices and project objectives. Build & Maintain Automation Frameworks (30%) Develop, enhance, and maintain automation testing frameworks. Create and modify automation test scripts for enterprise applications. Coordinate team contributions to shared automation test suites. Promote reusable testing components and automation best practices. Integrate automation into CI/CD and source control processes using GitHub. Performance, Security & Quality Engineering (20%) Design and execute: Load testing Performance testing Security testing Support implementation of quality engineering practices including: Code linting Test coverage improvement Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) Test-Driven Development (TDD) Contribute to AI-enabled testing initiatives and reusable testing assets. Support creation and maintenance of testing environments and test databases. Metrics, Reporting & Agile Collaboration (10%) Define and monitor quality assurance metrics. Automate quality reporting and testing artifacts. Participate in Agile ceremonies including: Sprint Planning Sprint Reviews Daily Stand-ups Retrospectives Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. To support these initiatives, the province is seeking up to seven (7) Quality Assurance Automation Developers to join cross-functional product delivery teams responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of digital services delivered across multiple government ministries. Successful candidates will play a critical role in developing automated testing solutions, improving quality engineering practices, and enabling rapid, continuous delivery of secure, high-quality digital applications. Scope of Services The Selected Consultant Will Lead automation testing efforts across multiple Agile projects. Develop automation frameworks, test suites, and reusable testing assets. Design and execute functional, integration, performance, load, security, and end-to-end tests. Support Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices. Define quality metrics and automate reporting processes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary Agile teams to improve software quality throughout the development lifecycle. Support emerging initiatives involving reusable testing components, AI-assisted testing, and continuous quality improvement. The engagement is expected to run for 12 months , with the possibility of extension for up to 24 additional months .
