Location: Enercare Centre (Exhibition Place) – Toronto, ON

Job Type: Temporary Event

Compensation: $19.00/hour (General Labourer) | $21.00/hour (Lead Hand – 1 position)

Worklynx Recruitment Inc. is currently hiring General Labour – Event Setup & Tear Down Associates for one of our clients located in Toronto.

About the Role

This is a temporary opportunity supporting the setup and teardown of a large-scale trade show. The work is best described as light warehouse/light manufacturing in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Working in small teams, you'll unpack merchandise, merchandise displays, complete simple fixture assembly, and help prepare and dismantle the event. Candidates available for both the setup and teardown dates are preferred, although partial availability will be considered.

Pay Rates: General Labourers – $19.00/hour | Lead Hand – $21.00/hour (1 position)

Availability: Candidates available for all four shifts will be given priority, as the client prefers to keep the same team together for both setup and teardown. Partial availability will also be considered.

On-Call Opportunities

In addition to the scheduled positions above, we are also building an on-call roster for this event.

Candidates selected for the on-call list will be required to complete the full Worklynx onboarding process in advance, including all required employment documentation.

Being on the on-call roster does not guarantee a shift. However, on-call team members may be contacted on short notice to fill last-minute vacancies due to call-offs, increased staffing needs, or other operational requirements.

To be considered for the on-call roster, candidates must:

  • Complete all onboarding requirements prior to the event.
  • Be available to accept shifts on short notice.
  • Be able to travel to the Enercare Centre with minimal notice.
  • Be reliable and reachable by phone or text on event days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in teams of 3–6 to complete assigned event setup and teardown tasks
  • Unpack merchandise and display materials
  • Assemble simple displays and fixtures using basic hand tools
  • Stock and merchandise products in assigned departments
  • Move skids using hand pump trucks
  • Dismantle displays, box merchandise, and build/wrap pallets after the event
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow supervisor direction and assist wherever needed throughout the shift

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in general labour, light manufacturing, warehouse, retail merchandising, event setup, or similar roles is an asset
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and performing light to moderate lifting throughout the shift
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to stay busy and take initiative
  • Steel-toe safety footwear required
  • PPE safety vest provided onsite
