General Labour - Full time - Immediate Start

GFL Environmental is looking for a hardworking and reliable General Laborer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing a variety of physical tasks to support daily operations.

Responsibilities include site maintenance, equipment support, and assisting skilled trades or operators as needed.

GFL is traded on the NYSE & the TSX – search "GFL" to see our stock performance Key Responsibilities: Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing debris, sweeping, pressure washing.

Equipment Support: Perform basic cleaning and preventative maintenance on tractor-trailers.

Operational Support: Operate general site vehicles such as pickup trucks.

Safety Compliance: Work in strict accordance with company safety policies and provincial/federal health and safety regulations.

Facility Upkeep: Perform minor repairs and general maintenance, including painting, janitorial tasks, and basic office repairs.

Material Handling: Load, unload, and move materials manually or with the assistance of basic tools.

Team Assistance: Cross-train to assist with parts and service coverage. Provide general support to senior staff and perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure project deadlines are met.

Requirements & Qualifications: Technical Skills: Experience operating a skid steer or similar small machinery is considered a strong asset.

Problem Solving: Ability to apply common sense reasoning to carry out instructions and solve practical problems.

Physical Stamina

  • Ability to manually lift and move up to 65 lbs regularly. Ability to push or move up to 100 lbs with assistance. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and standing for long periods.

Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions clearly.
