Full time Live-in - Armstrong BC. Morning routine, meals, errands, appointments and companionship.

We are seeking a Full-Time Live-In senior care professional to join our family in providing assistance to our elderly parents in Armstrong, BC. My dad lives with Parkinson's and has mobility issues, while my mom is living with dementia. They both require considerable help with their daily routines, including exercises, bathing and grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance. The role also entails meal planning and preparation, administering medications, and helping with range-of-motion exercises. Regular errands such as grocery shopping, picking up the mail, and managing their calendar will be part of your responsibilities. The role involves assisting with various household duties including vacuuming, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, washing dishes, and pet care for their beloved fat cat, Pi. My mom, while suffering from dementia, is a sociable individual with a love for arts and music, so companionship is also an integral part of the job. As for my dad, he enjoys resting and sharing stories from his years with the RCMP. The role will also involve escorting my parents to appointments and potentially planning visits, outings and trips to visit neighbours, friends, and family. As a live-in assistant, you will also need to supervise the home. The position requires an individual who has experience or is willing to work with Parkinson's and dementia patients. A driver's license is required as the family will provide a car for use on the job. The work schedule includes morning, mid-day, evening, and night shifts from Sunday to Saturday. The workload will exceed 50 hours per week. This role is set to begin on the 15th of June, 2026, or immediately. Their house is located on a small acreage a few minutes away from the city center, with a generous space for gardening, especially during our long, warm growing season. If you are passionate about providing senior care and have the required skills and experience, we would love to hear from you.
