This role includes organizing work schedules, assigning tasks to team members, and ensuring that installations and finishes are completed on time and according to plans and specifications. The Forman monitors safety practices, conducts site inspections, and enforces company and regulatory safety standards throughout each project. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve reading and interpreting construction drawings, communicating with project managers and trades, tracking materials and equipment needs, and reporting on project progress or issues. The role requires active participation on site, problem solving in real time, and guiding crew members to maintain quality, productivity, and a positive work environment.</p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p> </p><ul><li>Demonstrated experience in drywall installation, finishing, and acoustic ceiling systems, including supervising crews on active construction sites.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications, and to plan work sequences effectively.</li><li>Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and provide clear direction to crew members.</li><li>Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant job site.</li><li>Solid organizational and time management skills, including experience scheduling work, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple projects or areas of work.</li><li>Effective communication skills for interacting with project managers, trades, suppliers, and clients, and for documenting site activities and issues.</li><li>Proficiency in basic site documentation and reporting, such as daily logs, material usage tracking, and progress updates.</li><li>Previous Foreman or lead hand experience in drywall or related construction trades; Red Seal or trade certification is an asset.</li><li>Ability to work full time on-site in varying weather and site conditions, including standing, lifting, and using hand and power tools safely.</li><li>Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around London, ON.</li></ul>
