About the Role We are looking for a dedicated Field Videographer who loves to travel and is passionate about capturing the authentic stories of the trades. This is a unique role designed for a skilled shooter who thrives on the move. You will spend a significant amount of time traveling across Canada and the U.S., partnering directly with our clients on their turf.

While you need solid editing skills to support the team during down-periods, your primary focus will be behind the camera on active job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Our On-Site Production: Travel extensively across Canada and the U.S. to capture high-quality photo and video content that showcases the hard-working energy of trades-based businesses.
  • Manage a Dynamic Travel Schedule: Maintain a high-frequency travel rhythm. A typical peak week involves traveling on Mondays and Fridays, with on-site shooting Tuesdays through Thursdays ensuring you are home every weekend.
  • Operate Independently in the Field: Confidently manage your own gear, travel logistics, and shoot schedules while working away from the main office for weeks at a time.
  • Build Strong Client Relationships: Represent Blue Collar Marketing with professionalism and charisma. You’ll be working directly with tradespeople and business owners, bringing the right energy to make them feel comfortable and natural on camera.
  • Support Internal Brand Growth: During weeks with fewer client shoots, you will pivot to filming internal BCM advertisements, behind-the-scenes content, and marketing assets for our own brand.
  • Contribute to Post-Production: Assist with the editing workflow during travel lulls or down-weeks, utilizing your editing skills to help polish and deliver final assets.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in video and photo production, preferably working with businesses or in an agency environment
  • Exceptional on-site camera operator with strong instincts for capturing action, people, and environments in fast-paced settings
  • Possess a valid passport and be comfortable traveling independently across North America for client shoots – often involving multi-location itineraries
  • Charismatic and confident communicator – especially when working with tradespeople who aren’t always used to being on camera
  • Fully comfortable and safety-conscious while working on active, loud, or dusty industrial and construction sites. PPE will be provided by BCM.
  • Proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro and Lightroom. You don’t need to be an advanced motion graphics artist, but you must be able to assemble clean, engaging edits when needed.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of AI tools for media creation and editing, with the ability to integrate them into production workflows for increased efficiency and creativity
  • Able to problem solve on the go, especially while travelling. At some point in time, you will be dealing with border agents, missed flights, rental car mishaps and more. We need someone resourceful.
