Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Virtual Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience by efficiently managing appointments, assisting patients with inquiries, and contributing to the smooth operation of our virtual pulmonary care practice. Responsibilities As a Virtual Medical Receptionist – Patient Experience and Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for the following key areas: Patient Communication: Answer incoming calls from patients in a professional and friendly manner, assist patients with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations, and provide information about our services, care processes, and virtual visit instructions. Appointment Management: Efficiently manage the appointment calendar, ensuring proper scheduling and availability, and send appointment reminders and follow-up communications to patients. Waitlist Management: Proactively reach out to patients on the waitlist to schedule appointments as availability opens up. Insurance Verification: Collaborate with patients to gather and verify insurance information, check insurance coverage, and provide accurate information to patients regarding coverage details. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Handling: Utilize the EMR system, Athena, to access patient records, update information, and schedule appointments, and ensure accurate and up-to-date patient data within the EMR. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest innovative solutions to enhance patient experiences and operational efficiency, and collaborate with the team to implement new processes and refine existing ones. Must-Haves To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Previous Experience as a Medical Receptionist: You should have prior experience working as a medical receptionist, preferably in a virtual care setting. Proficient in Using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems: You should be proficient in using EMR systems, specifically Athena, to access patient records, update information, and schedule appointments. Tech-Savvy with the Ability to Troubleshoot Low-Level Technical Issues Independently: You should be tech-savvy and able to troubleshoot low-level technical issues independently. Ability to Think Critically, Solve Problems, and Make Decisions that Contribute to Process Improvements: You should be able to think critically, solve problems, and make decisions that contribute to process improvements. Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills to Collaborate Effectively with Cross-Functional Teams: You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
