<p><strong>EDUCATION AND TRAINING MANAGER </strong></p><p><strong>ABOUT WOMANACT </strong></p><p>WomanACT works collaboratively to eradicate violence against women and advance gender equity through community mobilization, coordination, research, policy, and education. </p><p><strong>ABOUT THE POSITION </strong></p><p>The Education and Training Manager oversees, develops, and delivers education, training, and advisory services to community-based agencies, businesses, and other institutions. This role focuses on creating and implementing comprehensive training programs that address gender-based violence, women’s safety, housing, and economic security, and on supporting organizational initiatives through workshop facilitation, partnership development, and community engagement. </p><p>As part of this portfolio, the Manager leads WomanACT in the Workplace: our fee-for-service offering of gender equity, anti-violence, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) education tailored for businesses and workplaces across sectors. This includes building partnerships with businesses, unions, and workplace stakeholders, delivering training and advisory services, and supporting organizational change toward safer, more equitable, and inclusive workplaces. </p><p>The ideal candidate brings expertise in adult education and curriculum development alongside workplace policy, organizational capacity building, and business development, and holds a strong commitment to advancing gender equity and preventing violence. </p><p><strong>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES </strong></p><p>(This is not an exhaustive list of duties to be performed.) </p><p><strong>1. Education and Training </strong></p><ul><li>Supervise and support the development, design, maintenance, and management of education and training content and materials </li><li>Ensure all education content and materials are grounded in research and evidence-based practices, including by directing consultant researchers where applicable </li><li>Manage and update current e-learning curriculum, content, and materials </li><li>Coordinate and deliver workshops and training opportunities in response to educational needs and emerging practices </li><li>Deliver high-quality, interactive training sessions to community agencies, workplace leaders, employees, and other stakeholders on topics such as gender-based violence prevention, DEI, and trauma-informed practice </li><li>Provide advisory services to organizations, businesses, and institutions on gender-based violence prevention and response </li><li>Represent WomanACT at workshops, trainings, and conferences when applicable </li><li>Support the management, training, and supervision of volunteers and interns </li></ul><p><strong>2. WomanACT in the Workplace </strong></p><ul><li>Lead and supervise the ongoing development, design, and implementation of the WomanACT in the Workplace initiative </li><li>Provide technical and resource support to the continuous enhancement of the initiative’s curriculum, products, and service offerings </li><li>Lead business development and the promotion of workshops, training, and advisory opportunities associated with the initiative </li><li>Identify, support, and engage prospective partners and clients in consulting, education, and training services </li><li>Work with the senior team to build and maintain strategic partnerships with businesses, unions, and other workplace stakeholders </li><li>Collaborate with organizations to conduct workplace assessments and develop customized action plans for policy and practice improvements </li><li>Facilitate networking opportunities and knowledge-sharing events to build a community of practice among participating organizations </li><li>Work collaboratively with community organizations to integrate best practices and culturally responsive approaches </li></ul><p><strong>3. Program Management and Coordination </strong></p><ul><li>Support the implementation of knowledge mobilization and educational activities across WomanACT projects </li><li>Liaise with external partners and contractors (web developers, designers, IT contractors, translators, interpreters, etc.) </li><li>Support virtual meetings and training, including agenda setting, facilitation, and evaluation. </li><li>Collaborate with other staff members, as appropriate, in executing assigned tasks </li></ul><p><strong>4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting </strong></p><ul><li>Compile and maintain data to monitor program impact and inform ongoing program development and evaluation </li><li>Collaborate with the team to establish evaluation frameworks that measure program impact and outcomes </li><li>Monitor and evaluate education and training activities and contribute to organizational evaluation activities </li><li>Support analysis of data and feedback to inform continuous improvement of the WomanACT in the Workplace initiative </li><li>Prepare reports and presentations communicating program achievements and lessons learned to funders, partners, and stakeholders </li></ul><p><strong>5. General Responsibilities </strong></p><ul><li>Work collaboratively with team members toward the successful achievement of proposal and grant development </li><li>Maintain regular communication and work closely with the Director of Programs and Executive Director </li><li>Collaborate with team members on implementing key performance measures, the WomanACT evaluation strategy, program progress reports, and work plans </li><li>Work toward productive working relationships with team colleagues, committee members, and other partners </li><li>Understand and support the Mission, Vision, and Values of WomanACT </li><li>Incorporate principles of anti-oppression and equity in all WomanACT initiatives </li><li>Demonstrate respect, consideration, and acceptance of the opinions of others while expressing expertise and effectively utilizing relevant resources </li><li>Be receptive to new ideas and adapt to change as necessary </li><li>Demonstrate commitment to ongoing personal and professional development </li><li>Consistently collaborate with team members, sharing ideas and differences openly </li><li>Identify and mitigate risks to WomanACT </li><li>Participate in WomanACT-wide special events (press conferences, Annual General Meetings, etc.) </li><li>Develop and maintain effective, professional relationships with the board, staff, contractors, funders, other key stakeholders, and the public </li><li>Maintain appropriate records </li><li>Collaborate with WomanACT team members to assist with fundraising projects </li><li>Support the integration of a feminist, anti-racist, and anti-oppression perspective into WomanACT initiatives </li><li>Other duties as required by the Director of Programs or Executive Director  </li></ul><p><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE </strong></p><p><strong>Required </strong></p><ul><li>Post-secondary degree in Education, Social Work, Women's Studies, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>3–5 years of experience in adult education, training development, or a related field </li><li>Demonstrated advanced knowledge of gender equity and gender-based violence issues, feminist frameworks, and anti-oppression practices </li></ul><p>Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and training facilitation, including proficiency in relevant training methodologies, learning tools, and soft skills (communication, critical thinking, time management, team building) </p><ul><li>Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources legislation and workplace policy development </li><li>Excellent presentation, group facilitation, and public speaking skills </li><li>Strong organizational and project management abilities </li><li>Proficiency with e-learning platforms and educational technology </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Demonstrated experience in business development and marketing, with an entrepreneurial orientation and a commitment to growing a fee-for-service training portfolio </li></ul><p><strong>Assets </strong></p><ul><li>Experience working in the violence against women sector </li><li>Knowledge of Ontario’s violence against women response system </li><li>Bilingual (English/French) or multilingual abilities </li><li>Instructional design certification or equivalent </li></ul><p><strong>Technical Competencies </strong></p><ul><li>Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, social media, and presentation tools </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of Thinkific, SurveyMonkey, Monday.com, and MailChimp (or comparable platforms) </li><li>Basic digital design skills </li><li>Working knowledge and ability to navigate HTML coding </li></ul><p><strong>POSITION DETAILS </strong></p><ul><li>Position Type: Indefinite </li><li>Hours: 35 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work may be required. </li><li>Salary: $70,000 annually </li><li>Start Date: October 2026 or earlier by mutual agreement. </li><li>Reports to: Director of Programs </li><li>Location: Hybrid - Successful candidates will be required to work both from our office at 1652 Keele Street and remotely from home in Ontario, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in their work arrangements.   </li></ul><p>Please note that this is not a remote/virtual role. At this time, in-office attendance is required at least two days a week and may be increased in the future.
