POSITION OVERVIEW Looking to make a difference in Early Childhood Education? Join our team as an Early Childhood Educator! Support a dynamic, community-based program for children and caregivers, create a welcoming environment, plan engaging activities, promote outdoor play, and connect with families to enhance child development. Reporting to the Program Manager, the selected candidate will assist in facilitating a drop-in program for children (ages birth to six) and their caregivers in a safe and welcoming environment. This role includes planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities that support early childhood development, fostering positive relationships with children and caregivers to encourage participation and engagement. The candidate will prepare and serve healthy snacks while following food safety guidelines, promote and provide opportunities for outdoor play to encourage physical activity and well-being, and offer families relevant resources and information to support child development and parenting. Additionally, the candidate will maintain a clean, organized, and safe play environment, assist with program evaluation, enter data as required, and adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including health and safety regulation Page Break QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate is enrolled in or a recent graduate of an Early Childhood Education (ECE) program or a related field (e.g., Child and Youth Care, Education, Social Work). Experience working with children aged birth to six years old in a group setting is an asset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for engaging effectively with children and caregivers. The candidate should have knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early learning, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. This is funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Qualified candidates must be: * Aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job; * Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and * Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent Resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
