The Dispatcher will be the primary point of contact for customers, responding to inquiries by phone and email, providing quotes, explaining services, and setting clear expectations for pickup and delivery timelines.
Responsibilities include creating and updating orders in the system, scheduling and coordinating shipments with drivers and dispatch, and tracking vehicles in transit to provide timely status updates. The role involves resolving service issues, handling complaints with professionalism, escalating complex situations when necessary, and following up to ensure customer satisfaction. The Dispatcher will also assist with documentation for cross-border or long-haul moves, verify accuracy of shipment details, and collaborate with safety, operations, and billing teams to ensure a smooth end-to-end customer experience.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills, including clear phone etiquette, active listening, and professional written correspondence.
- Organizational and coordination abilities, such as managing multiple requests, prioritizing tasks, and accurately entering and updating data in internal systems.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure, handle complaints constructively, and find practical solutions for customers.
- Basic computer proficiency, including use of email, CRM or dispatch software, spreadsheets, and other standard office tools.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or automotive services is an asset, especially familiarity with vehicle transport or cross-border shipping.
- Ability to work on-site in Montreal, QC, and collaborate effectively with dispatchers, drivers, and other internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when documenting orders, dates, locations, and customer information.
- Fluency in English and French serving customers in Quebec and across Canada.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in customer service, business, or logistics is an asset.
