<p><strong>Location:</strong> Toronto, ON, Hybrid, can be 1–2 days remote per week based on organizational needs</p><p><strong>Language:</strong> Strong written and spoken English communication skills</p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the Opportunity</strong></p><p>Our client, a mission-driven non-profit, is seeking a Director of Finance and Administration to join its Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the Executive Director, you’ll serve as a trusted strategic partner, helping guide financial sustainability, organizational modernization and the infrastructure needed to support continued growth.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What’s in it for You</strong></p><p>You’ll join a collaborative leadership team where your perspective can directly influence strategy and community impact. You’ll oversee a growing finance and administration function while helping shape capital planning, technology modernization, and risk management.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Your Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>You’ll lead financial strategy, multi-year planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, reserves, investments and capital planning.</li><li>You’ll support the overall health and growth of the organization through timely financial reporting, scenario analysis and strategic recommendations.</li><li>You’ll oversee the Finance and Administration team, including a Finance Manager and accounting staff, while maintaining accountability for financial integrity, payroll and controls.</li><li>You’ll lead enterprise risk, audit, compliance, governance and funder reporting across a largely government-funded environment.</li><li>You’ll partner with Facilities leadership on capital projects, infrastructure planning and financial strategy.</li><li>You’ll champion technology modernization, working with external IT partners to strengthen cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, Dayforce utilization and organizational systems.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Skills and Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>7+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally within a non-profit, public sector or similar environment.</li><li>CPA designation or equivalent.</li><li>Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, audits, internal controls and Board-level reporting.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead capital planning, funding strategies and complex financial decision-making.</li><li>Experience overseeing technology and/or digital transformation initiatives.</li><li>Collaborative leadership skills with the ability to coach teams and partner effectively across Finance, People, Facilities and executive leadership.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Note from the Hiring Manager</strong></p><p>“We’re looking for a strategic partner who can see the bigger picture, strengthen the systems behind our work and help us make thoughtful financial decisions as we build for the future.”</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Why Partner with Altis</strong></p><p>If you’ve never worked with a staffing agency before, we make it easy.
