Dairy Farm Labourer

Job duties:

 

Milk cows by hand or using machines

Handling animals

Monitoring animal health

Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly

Treat livestock health issues

Feed and tend animals

Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment

Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed

Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market

Monitor the calving process

Organize tasks to accomplish the work

Disinfect pens and barns

Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns and pens.

Perform general farm duties

May drive equipment to help with field work

 

 

Requirements:

 

-Education: No formal education is required

-Experience: Experience is an asset / On-the-job training will be provided.

-Must take direction and abide by safety rules

-A Valid driver’s license is a strong asset.

Wage: $20.00 per hour. 40 – 42 hours per week.

 

Benefits: Accommodation provided at no cost, Transportation costs covered if the worker needs to relocate. The employer will provide transportation to and from the off-site housing to the work location when necessary.

 

Important Information: The selected candidates will be scheduled to work between 4 and 7 days per week. If a worker works 7 days in one week, they will be limited to a maximum of 5 days the following week. Regular working hours are from 2:30 AM to 8:30 AM, and from 6:30 PM to 12:30 AM. Candidates may work either one or two shifts per day, depending on business needs. Overtime, weekend, and holiday work will be required. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as some days may start earlier or end later, depending on business requirements.
