Copy Editor - Part Time, Remote

Roles:As a Part-Time Copy Editor, you'll review and refine written content across multiple platforms. You'll work with program descriptions, marketing materials, website updates, and blog posts—ensuring everything maintains a consistent tone and style. You'll collaborate with designers, gather feedback from stakeholders, and manage the full approval process before content goes live.

What you'll do

• Proofread, edit, and fact-check program descriptions and marketing copy for accuracy and clarity• Create and review copy for flyers, brochures, posters, calendars, and email campaigns• Gather information and write blog posts on a range of topics• Update website and app content, including text, images, and lists• Collaborate with designers and provide constructive feedback on visual elements• Conduct research and interviews to support content creation• Manage the approval workflow—delivering proofs to stakeholders and following up for feedback• Stay informed about current trends and best practices in editing and publishing• Handle other duties as needed in a fast-paced environment

Skills/background needed

• Associate's Degree or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree programme with at least 60 credits completed in English, communications, journalism, or a related field• Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel• Strong time management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously• Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment• Basic understanding of HTML• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills• Experience with design software or knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus• Prior experience as a writer or editor in print and digital formats is a plus
