Commercial HVAC Service Technician – 313A & G1

Why Join PL Energy Services

PL Energy Services is a commercial mechanical and electrical contractor serving clients across Ontario. Our technicians work on a wide range of commercial HVAC, refrigeration, gas, controls, and mechanical systems.

This is not a position where you will spend every day changing filters or working on the same equipment.

One week may involve diagnosing rooftop units, servicing boilers, completing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting controls. The next may include equipment replacements, heat pump installations, refrigeration repairs, commissioning, gas piping, or retrofit work.

We are looking for an experienced technician who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants to build a long-term career with a growing commercial contractor.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician who holds both a valid Ontario 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic Licence and a valid G1 Gas Technician Licence.

The successful candidate will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment replacements, installations, startups, and commissioning across commercial facilities.

This role requires strong mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, gas, and controls troubleshooting skills. The right candidate will be able to work independently, communicate professionally with customers, and take responsibility for completing work safely and correctly.

  • Complete equipment startups, testing, and commissioning
  • Troubleshoot electrical components, control wiring, sensors, relays, contactors, and motors
  • Service gas-fired appliances and complete gas piping work

  • Clearly explain findings and recommendations to customers
  • Complete accurate and professional service reports
  • Coordinate with office staff, project managers, technicians, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Take responsibility for the quality and completion of assigned work

  • Supports other technicians when assistance is needed
  • Takes initiative and follows through on responsibilities
  • Wants to continue learning and improving
