Job Summary The Team

This well-established large multidisciplinary team is based at the Surrey North Community Services office delivering face to face income and disability assistance services to citizens in the community. Our team represents the public face of income assistance and plays a critical role in supporting individuals and families to access financial supports. Our team develops relationships with clients, often interacting with them regularly, and they bring a high level of skill and empathy to understanding complex circumstances and life experiences.

The team is connected to the community, provides a safe and welcoming environment for citizens, and supports clients by meeting them where they are at.

The Role The Supervisor, Administrative Services provides support to program management and staff, supervises seven client service workers, coordinates office administration functions, human resources, payroll, records management, facilities, and asset management ensuring delivery of services meet business needs and objectives. The work has a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of clients, delivering essential services by addressing urgent needs and connecting clients to critical resources. Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum one year of experience providing administrative and/or financial support services for a group of staff.
  • Minimum one year of public facing customer/client service experience responding to inquiries and resolving /de-escalating issues in a timely manner.
  • Experience leading others.
Preferences:
  • Experience in supervising and scheduling staff, allocating work duties, managing employee performance, change management, and delivering training and direction.
  • Experience using computer web-based applications, financial systems, company pay roll/time keeping/scheduling etc.
  • Experience with Integrated Case Management System (ICM) or complex information management systems.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with a degree or diploma in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience working directly in or with community-based social service organizations providing services to citizens in a face-to-face setting.

About this Position:

There is one (1) permanent position located in Surrey.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.

An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
